The Safe Haven Intervention Center is a progressive education, the curriculum will be integrated with themes all throughout the year. The three preschool levels will have the same topics however the difference can be recognized as to the difficulty on how the themes will be presented and the activities will vary depending on the readiness of the students. The curriculum will be flexible enough hence the students' interests will be maximized to ensure continued learning and development.
As a whole, the curriculum is based on values and practices that the students can apply in their lives in order to function effectively in society. The aim of the curriculum is to promote and instill an appreciation for learning and development as a life-long process. The Safe Haven Intervention Center use of discovery and experiential approach in learning emphasizes the use of various manipulative and materials that are found inside and outside of the classroom which encourages the students to explore their surrounding. The teachers’ primary role is to facilitate the students’ learning process. The Safe Haven Intervention Center and the entirety of its staff exert all knowledge and abilities to achieve the school's goal and reflect the school's philosophy.
The routines and schedule of each level includes ample amount of time for the children to engage in the variety of activities and areas. The students have the freedom to decide what materials are to be used based on their interest and curiosity. Through this, the children are honed to become independent thinkers while cultivating their imagination and creativity.
The development of the students will be monitored through the use of a checklist. The checklist will serve as a guide for teachers to document the progress and development of each child all throughout the school year.
