Before accepting students here at Safe Haven, we make sure to assess the children first, to know the basic information, know the child’s strengths and areas of concern and to help us determine what level to put the child. We can also provide the parents information about the assessment results. For the early childhood educator it can help identify the child’s needs, to let them know what activities to plan and what goals are appropriate for the children and to meet their needs. After the assessment and evaluation we will know the appropriate placement for the child.
Once accepted, the child will take again the assessment after a month of stay in school to see how they are coping up with school. The second time that it will be taken is on October wherein we will see how the child is so far in school. Lastly, by the end of the year the child will take again the assessment to see any improvements from the whole school year.
